Hi, My Father Robert A. Hitt served on the Augusta During The D-day operation and earlier convoy operations....but he really does not share much about it and he is now 76 and often ill...and does not live near me...I am proud of his service but know little about it except that he was a quatermaster,I believe, used to have a red beard and was sometimes called "scotie" he says also that he had been to Iceland ,and was unboard when George the VI was there...My father stands about 5'7 has a brown hair,except for the beard,and hazel eyes...He is a native of Framingham Mass Any and all info would be a god send thanks in advance....Timothy J.
