My uncle Arthur Van Meter served aboard the USS AUGUSTA Oct 1922 to April 1935. Captain Chester Nimiz married Arthur Van Meter and Katherine Sumbatova in Minila, PI. Katherine Sumbatova father was the Captain of the guards of the Csar of Russia and he and his wife were killed with the Csar's family in 1917. I would like to find a confirmation of this marriage possibly in the ships log. Any help would be appreciated. James F.
