I am trying to obtain information regarding the 1937 visit of USS Augusta to Vladivostok. The visit ocurred at a time when thousands of prisoners were being shipped by sea from Vladivostok (and Nadhodka) to the Gulag camps in Kolyma. I am trying to learn if the ship came across any evidence of this shipping activity. Can anyone suggest sources? Many thanks
