(the following summary is taken from the home page of the Massapequa Mustangs

)The Massapequa Mustang Senior team beat the Farmingdale Hawks, 36-0, in what figured to be a battle of first place teams. Farmingdale, with a win, would have secured 1st place overall in the NFC conference, but were denied that priviledge as a very tough and determined Mustang squad also wanted to complete their regular season in the AFC conference undefeated.

The Mustangs would start the game receiving the kickoff and for the 5th time this season, the Mustangs would score on their first play of the game. Chris Hurst (9 carries, 114 yards, 1 td) took the opening handoff for 70 yards and the 6-0 lead. The second Mustang touchdown came by Kevin Zorovich (3 carries, 14 yards, 1 td, 1 field goal) and his 2 pt conversion kick gave the Mustangs a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, due to Chris Hursts interception at the Farmingdale 12 yard line, the Mustangs Kevin Zorovich would put 3 more  points on the board as he kicked a 27 yard field goal for a 17-0 lead. The final score before the half came when Farmingdale, punting from deep in their territory, had the punt blocked and recovered by Kyle Sullivan for the Mustangs 3rd touchdown and 23-0 halftime lead.

The Mustangs final two touchdowns came in the second half. The first td in the 3rd quarter came on a 14 yard run by John Bragoli (3 carries, 47 yards 2 td's) with John also punching in the extra point for a 30-0 lead. John Bragoli would score again, this time in the 4th quarter when he ran 37 yards for the final score of 36-0.

The Mustang team of Michael Andriano, Matthew barnathan, John Bragoli, John Buckley, Michael Butler, Frank Cordeira, Cameron Corton, Matthew Cowley, Leon Crosby, Nick Disimile, Brendan Feifer, Michael Fitzgerald, Michael Fox, KevinGreenhalgh, Michael Hammond, Chris Hurst, Louis Iacona, Bryan Lally, Chris Lukas, James McCann, Daniel McCormack, James Muhlbauer, Colin O'Leary, Anthony Polo, Robert Santangelo, Dashaun Sims, Michael Summus, Billy Trainor and Kevin Zorovich should all be very proud of themselves as they have accomplished something that will stay with them forever, an undefeated regular season. With two more games possible, these men have a chance at doing what no other Senior team has done in a very long time, go undefeated at 12-0. The ball is in your court guys. Keep up the intensity, practice hard and listen to your coaches and the rewards will be great. Good luck next week against whomever it is that you will be facing. You guys are the best!!!!
