Massapequa defeats Long Beach 24-8

(Massapequa - 11/1/03) - It was a bright, warm beautiful Homecoming Day in Massapequa. The stands on the Massapequa Chiefs' side were filled and overflowed to the surrounding perimeter fences, and the Chiefs (4-3) did not disappoint their fans in a 28-8 defeat of Long Beach (2-5). Geoff Leone scored two touchdowns, and Sean McKenna scored one for Massapequa. 

 Paul Solomon scored one touchdown for Long beach in the second quarter, which when combined with a two point conversion put Long Beach ahead by the score of 8-7. 

However, with five minutes remaining in the first half the Chiefs' star place-kicker, Jon Snyder, nailed a career long 40 yard field goal to give his team a 10-8 lead which they never relinquished. Leone rushed for a career high 175 yards on 22 carries for Massapequa.
