The following is a verbatim transcript of an outline prepared by the Secret Service regarding President
Franklin D. Roosevelt's journey to the Atlantic Conference. The original outline is to be found at

AN OUTLINE OF THE ATLANTIC CHARTER TRIP

8-2-41 - At 10:45 A.M. the President left the White House, motored to Union Station and departed Washington, D.C. at 11:00 a.m. via the Pennsyvania Railroad. At 7:45 P.M. the President arrived at Submarine Base, New London, Conn. where he detrained and embarked on the U.S.S.Potomac. At 7:36 the Potomac was underway and at 11:47 P.M. anchored at Point of Refuge, Point Judith, R.I.

8-4-41 - Midnight to 6:40 A.M. the U.S.S.Potomac, with the President aboard, remained at anchor at Point of Refuge, Point Judith, R.I.; at 6:40 AM the Potomac got underway and at 9:55 a.m. came to anchor in Apponagansett Bay, At 10:50 a.m. the Potomac lifted anchor and cruised back and forth in Buzzard Bay until 7:30 P.M. when she dropped anchor off Negro Lodge in Buzzards Bay.

At 7:50 P.M. the President left the Potomac at the wheel of a Kris Kraft speedboat and cruised to the Yacht Club Landing, South Dartmouth, Mass. At 8:15 P.M., the President returned to the Potomac; the Potomac got underway and at 10:23 P.M. anchored in Menemsha Bight, Vineyard Sound, Mass. where she remained at anchor.

8-5-41 - Midnight to 5:30 A.M. the USS Potomac remained at anchor in Menemsha Bight, Vineyard Sound, Mass. At 5:30 A.11. the Potomac got underway and went alongside, the USS Augusta where at 6:17 A.M. the President left the Potomac and embarked on the Augusta. At 6:40 a.m. the Augusta got underway and at midnight was steaming for Ship Harbor, Newfoundland convoyed by the following US ships - Tuscaloosa, Madison, Moffett, Sampson, Winslow and McDougal.

8-6-41 - Midnight to Midnight the USS Augusta., with the President aboard, was steaming for Ship Harbor, Newfoundland.

8-7-41 - Midnight to 9:24 A.M., the USS Augusta, with the President aboard, was steaming to Ship Harbor, Newfoundland. At 9:24 am. she dropped anchor there. At 1:35 P.M. the President left the USS Augusta in a motor whaleboat and fished in Ship Harbor, Newfoundland until 5:00 P.M at which time he again boarded the USS Augusta, which was still at anchor at midnight.

8-8-41 - From midnight to midnight the President stayed aboard the USS Augusta, which remained at anchor in Ships Harbor, Newfoundland during this time.

8-9-41 - From midnight to midnight the President remained on board the USS Augusta which was at anchor in Ships Harbor, Newfoundland.

8-10-41 - From midnight to 10:30 A.M. the President remained aboard the USS Augusta in Ship Harbor, Newfoundland. At 10:30 AM the President transferred to the USS Mayrant and at 11:00 AM boarded the HMS Prince of Wales, where he attended Divine Services on board, received the Officers of the Ship and attended a luncheon in his honor given by the Honorable Winston Churchill Prime Minister of Great Britain. At 5:35 P.M. the President returned to the USS Augusta and remained aboard until midnight.

8-11-41 - From midnight to midnight the President remained aboard the USS Augusta which was at anchor in Ships Harbor, Newfoundland.

8-12-41 - Midnight to 5:10 P.M. the USS Augusta with the President aboard remained at anchor in Ships Harbor, Newfoundland. At 5:10 P.M.the USS Augusta got underway and was enroute to Blue Hill Bay, Placentice Island, Maine at midnight.

8-13-41 - Midnight to Midnight the USS Augusta with the President aboard was route from Ships Harbor, Newfoundland to Blue Hill Bay, Placentice Island.

8-14-41 - From midnight to 11:00 a.m. the USS Augusta with the President aboard, was enroute from Ships Harbor, Newfoundland to Placentice Is. Me. At 11:00 A.M. the USS Augusta dropped anchor in Blue Hill Bay near Placentice Island the USS Potomac came alongside and at 2:13 PM the President left the Augusta embarked on the USS Potomac.

At 2:20 PM the USS Potomac with the President aboard got underway and steamed past Deer Island, Me to Eggmoggin Beach, Me where the Potomac dropped anchor at 7:10 PM and remained at anchor until midnight.

8-15-41 From midnight to 10:28 A.M. the USS Potomac with the President aboard remained at anchor in Eggmoggin Reach. At 10:28 A.M. the Potomac got underway, cruised near Deer Island during the day and at 4:30 P.M. anchored in Pulpit Harbor, Me and was still at anchor at midnight.

8-16-41 - From midnight to 12:30 MM P.M. the USS Potomac with the President remained at anchor In Pulpit Harbor, Me. At 12:30 P.M. the Potomac got underway, cruised to Rockland, Me where at 2:00 P.M. the President disembarked from the USS Potomac at Rockland, Me., boarded his special train and at 3:35 P.M. left Rockland for Washington, being enroute at midnight.

8-16-41 - Midnight to 10:30 a m. the President was enroute from Rockland, Me to Washington, DC. At 10:30 a.m.the President arrived at Union Station, Washington, detrained and motored to the White House where he remained until midnight.
