On 8 August 1945 Captain Foskett was awarded the Legion of Merit by Commander Cruisers, Atlantic Fleet Administrative Command, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service to the Government of the United States, as Naval Liason Officer on the Staff of Commander in Chief Levant and Eastern Mediterranean from March 10, 1943 to May 15, 1944.
